A panel titled "Zero Waste" was held at YTÜ

As part of "Istanbul Zero Waste Week," held in Istanbul from June 1 to 7, a panel discussion titled "The Zero Point of Waste" was organized. Speaking at the opening of the panel held at Yıldız Technical University’s Davutpaşa Campus, Istanbul Governor Davut Gül stated that Zero Waste Week was being held for the first time in Turkey and worldwide.

Concert in Memory of Vedat Kosal

The renowned piano virtuoso, musicologist, and composer Vedat Kosal is being commemorated on the 25th anniversary of his passing with a concert organized by the Vedat Kosal Music Application and Research Center at Yıldız Technical University.

This year’s concert, featuring young pianist Utku Asan, will take place at the Sound Recording Studio of the Faculty of Art and Design at YTÜ’s Davutpaşa Campus. The program aims to present a wide-ranging repertoire spanning from the Classical Period to the 20th century.

Culture Festival '26

Our International Students Club’s “Culture Festival ’26” event will take place on June 5 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Event Area.

Environmental Festival

Our Environment and Sustainability Club’s Environment Festival will take place on June 4 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in front of the cafeteria at the Davutpaşa Campus.

Zero Waste Panel

Under the patronage of Mrs. Emine Erdoğan, Honorary President of the Zero Waste Foundation, and coordinated by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change of the Republic of Turkey, the Zero Waste Project has become one of our country’s most significant environmental initiatives aimed at protecting our environment, ensuring the efficient use of resources, and promoting a culture of sustainable living.

The fourth meeting of the Union of Technical Universities, which brings together Turkey’s 12 leading technical universities, was hosted by Erzurum Technical University. Chaired by YTÜ Rector and TÜB Chair Prof. Dr. Eyüp Debik, the meeting addressed the 2026 BAP processes, the shared use of research infrastructure, and digital integration among universities.

Yıldız Technical University was part of the delegation representing Turkey at the International Symposium on Natural Disasters and Search and Rescue Exercise held in Thessaloniki, Greece, with the participation of seven countries. Dr. Murat Ergenekon Selçuk, YTÜ’s Disaster and Emergency Aid Coordinator, contributed to the event by sharing academic expertise and participating in on-site practical exercises, thereby fostering regional cooperation.

YÖK Provides Overseas Support to 400 Researchers Under the AKAP, DOSAP, and GEP Programs

YÖK’ten AKAP, DOSAP ve GEP kapsamında 400 araştırmacıya yurt dışı desteği

Applications for the second round of 2026 for the AKAP, DOSAP, and GEP programs administered by the Higher Education Council (YÖK) opened on June 18, 2026. Under these programs, which aim to enable academics and researchers to conduct scientific research at leading universities around the world, 400 researchers from Turkey will receive support for overseas research. The application deadline is June 5, 2026.
