Following today’s announcement of the 2026 Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) results by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM), the countdown to the university application process has begun. Yıldız Technical University is organizing the 2026 Open House event for prospective students and their families preparing to make their university choices. The event, held under the motto “Are you ready to be a Star?”, will begin on Saturday, July 25, 2026, and will last four days.
As part of the YTÜ Open House, prospective students and their families will be hosted at the Historic Hamam Cultural Center and the Central Garden on the Davutpaşa Campus. Participants will have the opportunity to meet with YTÜ faculty, students, and alumni—including deans and department chairs—to receive firsthand information about departments, academic programs, campus life, and career opportunities after graduation.
Questions regarding the application process will be answered directly
YTÜ’s faculties and departments will meet with prospective students at information booths set up at the Historic Hamam Cultural Center. Department faculty will provide comprehensive information on academic staff, course content, language of instruction, preparatory programs, laboratory infrastructure, applied education processes, and research opportunities.
Prospective students will be able to ask faculty members about any topics they are curious about during the application process—ranging from double major and minor programs to Erasmus+ mobility, from internship opportunities to industry partnerships, and from student projects to career paths after graduation.
Current YTÜ students will also share their experiences with applicants regarding course programs, club activities, technology teams, campus life, international exchange programs, and what it’s like to be a YTÜ student. This will allow young people to evaluate the departments they are considering not only based on academic information but also through the lens of student experiences.
An Invitation to Prospective Students from Rector Debik
YTÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Eyüp Debik, noting that choosing a university is a crucial decision that shapes young people’s educational and career journeys, invited prospective students and their families to the open house events. Prof. Dr. Debik stated:
“Choosing a university is the most important step our young people take toward the future. We believe it is valuable for our young people to make their choice by thoroughly evaluating all aspects of universities—including their educational programs, academic staff, research opportunities, clubs and technology teams, international opportunities (particularly Erasmus+), and campus life. As Yıldız Technical University, we possess a strong ecosystem that transforms knowledge into technology, ideas into projects, and talents into social value. We hope that our prospective students will meet with our faculty and students, find direct answers to their questions, and experience what it means to be a part of Yıldız on our campus. We look forward to welcoming all young people who wish to learn, create, and shape the future—along with their families—to our historic Davutpaşa Campus.”
115 Years of Academic Heritage

By integrating undergraduate education with research, practical application, and project development, the university enables students to apply their academic knowledge to solving real-world problems. Prospective students will have the opportunity to gain a close-up look at the university’s educational philosophy and research infrastructure during YTÜ Open House Days.
YTÜ’s Global Rise Will Be Highlighted for Prospective Students
Continuing its upward trend in international academic rankings, YTÜ is strengthening its global visibility in the fields of education and research year after year. Having climbed 102 spots in the QS 2027 World University Rankings, YTÜ is ranked 634th globally and 9th in Turkey. In the THE 2026 World University Rankings, the university was placed in the 601–800 range and ranked 4th among state universities in Turkey.
Ranked 3rd among technical universities in the YÖK Research Universities Ranking, YTÜ is strengthening its scientific research through national and international projects, university-industry collaborations, and high-quality publications. Detailed information on the ranking results, research opportunities, and international academic collaborations will be shared with prospective students and their families during the Open House Days.
YTÜ: Turkey’s Leader in Erasmus+
Positioning internationalization as a key element of its education and research strategy, Yıldız Technical University continues to lead in Erasmus+ student mobility. For the past three years, YTÜ has stood out as the university sending the most students from Turkey under the Erasmus+ program.
The university boasts a strong international structure, encompassing over 300 partner universities worldwide, more than 700 international cooperation agreements, and an academic collaboration network reaching over 100 countries. YTÜ researchers also contribute to Europe’s scientific collaboration networks through their membership in over 100 COST actions.
Under the Erasmus+ program, 1,820 YTÜ students were sent abroad for study and internship mobility during the previous academic year. During the same period, 460 international students studied at YTÜ. Through its Erasmus+ initiatives, the university secured 12.3 million euros in grant funding.
Prospective students will be able to learn about Erasmus+ programs, study and internship mobility abroad, international agreements, and application processes during the open house events.
Technology Teams to Gather in the Central Courtyard
YTÜ’s Davutpaşa Central Courtyard will host the university’s technology teams and student clubs throughout the open house days. Unmanned aerial vehicles, autonomous race cars, robotic systems, and various engineering projects developed by YTÜ teams—which have achieved success at TEKNOFEST and international technology competitions—will be showcased to prospective students. Participants will be able to speak with the students who developed the vehicles and systems to learn about project development processes, teamwork, and competition experiences.
YTÜ students submitted 444 project applications to TEKNOFEST 2025. While 52 “Yıldızlı” teams advanced to the finals in the competitions, “Yıldızlı” students increased the number of awards they won from 11 the previous year to 27. These results serve as indicators of the university’s strong culture, where students can participate in technology development and high-quality project creation processes even during their undergraduate years.
YTÜ’s 73 student clubs will also meet with prospective students during the open house days through activities ranging from science and technology to culture and art, sports, social responsibility, and entrepreneurship.
Student Ideas Turn into Projects and Startups
During the open house, Yıldız Technical University’s entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem will also be introduced to prospective students. YTÜ Yıldız Technopark, the YTÜ Technology Transfer Office, YTU Startup House, ETP—a new addition to the YTÜ ecosystem—and the “Yıldız Explorers” entrepreneurship program, which is open to all universities, support students in turning their ideas into projects, products, and technology startups.
Students can participate in entrepreneurship training during their university years, develop their business ideas, create prototypes, and receive mentorship from experienced experts in their fields.
Nearly 750 technology companies, academic startups, and entrepreneurship programs operating within the YTU Yıldız Technopark TGB area create a comprehensive production environment where students can bridge the gap between scientific knowledge and industry needs.
During the open house, prospective students will have the opportunity to closely examine the stages through which an idea at the university can evolve into a project, a product, and a startup.
Students Gain Exposure to the Professional World Before Graduation
YTÜ’s KOOP Education Model enables students to establish direct contact with the industry while still pursuing their undergraduate studies. Students gain real-world work experience at institutions and organizations partnered with the university, providing them with the opportunity to apply their academic knowledge in a professional setting.
Thanks to the KOOP Education Model, YTÜ students develop their professional competencies, gain a close understanding of industry expectations, and prepare for their career journeys during their university years. The scope of the model, application processes, and the opportunities it offers to students will be shared in detail with prospective students during the information sessions.
A strong alumni network supports your career journey
Yıldız graduates continue their work in a wide range of fields—from engineering to architecture, education to economics, and basic sciences to technology entrepreneurship—both in Turkey and around the world.
The university’s strong ties with the industry and its extensive alumni network provide Yıldız students with a vital professional environment where they can access internships, projects, mentorship, and career opportunities. Prospective students will also be able to learn about the fields of work and career paths of graduates from various departments.
Scholarship Support for Students from the YTÜ Foundation
The YTÜ Foundation, one of the long-standing institutions of the YTÜ Family, supports students’ educational journeys through scholarship programs. The Outstanding Achievement Scholarship, intended for students who achieved high scores on the YKS and chose YTÜ, as well as the Equal Opportunity Scholarship—which prioritizes educational needs—and the meal scholarship are all available to YTÜ students. During the open house events, prospective students and their families will be provided with information regarding the scope of the scholarships, application requirements, and evaluation processes.
History, nature, and student life all on one campus
