The Yıldız Technopark Arnavutköy campus has been officially established by a presidential decree
The Arnavutköy campus, developed by Yıldız Technical University, YTÜ Yıldız Technopark, and the Arnavutköy Municipality, has been designated as the “Yıldız Technical University Technology Development Zone Extension Area” by a Presidential Decree. The decision, published in the Official Gazette, will transform Arnavutköy—a rapidly developing area of Istanbul—into a robust R&D and innovation ecosystem.
The Arnavutköy campus, implemented as part of YTÜ Yıldız Technopark’s vision to expand domestic and national technology production, has been designated as the “Yıldız Technical University Technology Development Zone Arnavutköy Extension Area” by a decree signed by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and published in the Official Gazette. Thus, the Technology Park Arnavutköy protocol, previously signed in collaboration between Arnavutköy Municipality and Yıldız Technical University, has been formalized.
R&D and technology production are moving to Arnavutköy
The culture of entrepreneurship and innovation fostered within YTÜ Yıldız Technopark will be transferred to the Arnavutköy campus, situated along one of Istanbul’s fastest-growing corridors in recent years. The technology hub to be established in the region will focus on software, R&D, and high-value-added technology production. The center will establish a sustainable framework for university-industry collaboration while directly contributing to Turkey’s technology export goals.
A new gateway to global markets
YTÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Eyüp Debik stated that the expansion of one of Turkey’s most comprehensive technology development ecosystems to Arnavutköy is a result of the strategy to scale up domestic and national technology production. Debik noted that international collaborations developed at the center will accelerate the integration of local entrepreneurs into global markets. YTÜ Yıldız Technopark General Manager Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhammet Garip, meanwhile, emphasized Arnavutköy’s strategic location, stating that university students, innovative entrepreneurs, and industrialists will generate strong synergy under one roof.
“We are building a district that grows with knowledge and technology”
The local administration’s technology vision for the region played a critical role in bringing the project to life. Arnavutköy District Governor Mahmut Hersanlıoğlu, who has consistently highlighted the role of science and technology in local development since the project’s inception, noted that the center will serve as a strategic hub for high-value-added production. Arnavutköy Mayor Mustafa Candaroğlu, meanwhile, emphasized that technology is at the core of the district’s development strategy. Candaroğlu stated that they envision an Arnavutköy that grows through knowledge and innovation, underscoring that the upcoming technology park will serve as a major hub for young researchers and entrepreneurs.
The goal is quality employment and uninterrupted production
The registration decision published in the Official Gazette symbolizes a new step in the vision of Yıldız Technical University and Yıldız Technopark to expand their scope of growth and influence. The project, which will translate the university’s deep academic heritage and YTÜ Yıldız Technopark’s technological infrastructure into practical applications, will provide strong support for our country’s national technology initiative.
The new campus will provide significant time and cost advantages for export-oriented technology companies. It will also serve as a natural hub for mobility and aviation technologies.
Spanning an area of 4,610 square meters dedicated to workspaces for R&D-focused companies, the campus will feature 12,000 square meters of enclosed space.
