QS 2027 Rankings Announced: YTÜ Climbed 102 Places Globally
QS, one of the world’s leading ranking organizations in higher education, has released its 2027 World University Rankings. Yıldız Technical University climbed 102 spots globally to rank 634th. YTÜ outperformed 57.9% of the universities included in the rankings and moved up one spot in Turkey to rank 9th.
The 2027 World University Rankings, prepared by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), one of the world’s leading higher education ranking organizations, have been published. In the rankings, which evaluate higher education institutions based on key indicators such as academic reputation, internationalization, research impact, and graduate employment, YTÜ climbed 102 spots in the overall rankings to reach 634th place.
YTÜ Climbed 242 Places in Two Years
Yıldız Technical University had previously advanced approximately 140 places in a single year, moving from the 851–900 band to the 731–740 band in the QS 2026 World University Rankings. Having climbed 102 spots in the QS 2027 results, YTÜ achieved a total rise of 242 spots over two years. This global leap was also reflected in the Turkish rankings. Our university moved up one spot among the 25 universities from Turkey included in the evaluation, rising from 10th to 9th place.
Yıldız Shines in Employer Reputation and Employment
According to the report, the area where YTÜ made its most significant leap was the Employer Reputation indicator, which reflects the business world’s perspective on university graduates. Rising 93 places compared to the previous year, YTÜ reached 217th place globally. Ranked 8th in this category in the Turkish national rankings, YTÜ recorded a graduate employment rate of 95 percent. This rise on the international stage demonstrates the success of YTÜ’s applied education model—developed in collaboration with the business world—at both the local and global levels.
Growth in Academic Output and Sustainability Continues
In the “Citations per Faculty” metric—a key indicator of research quality—YTÜ climbed 53 spots to rank 571st, achieving a score of 114.4—nearly double the global average of 59.9. With this performance, the university ranked 9th in Turkey in this category.
Maintaining its upward trend in the sustainability metric as well, YTÜ advanced 26 spots globally to rank 403rd. In Turkey, it ranked 5th.
Upward Trend in Internationalization
The steps taken by YTÜ in recent years toward its internationalization goals have also been reflected in the QS rankings. YTÜ climbed 38 spots in the International Students category to rank 579th. Listed as the 4th best institution in Turkey, YTÜ’s international student ratio of 14.4 significantly exceeded the global average of 8.8.
In the International Research Network indicator, YTÜ climbed 10 points to rank 753rd, continuing to expand its global engagement in scientific collaborations.
With the QS 2027 results, YTÜ continued its steady upward trend in the areas of research quality, graduate employment, internationalization, and sustainability. These results demonstrate that YTÜ’s efforts—focused on quality, research, collaboration, and global visibility—in line with its internationalization goals have been tangibly reflected in the global rankings.
