New steps in the collaboration between YTÜ and the Krakow University of Technology: Joint projects and technology park consulting are on the table
The collaboration between Yıldız Technical University and the Krakow University of Technology, which is being carried out under a previously signed agreement, has entered a new phase. During their visit to YTÜ, the delegation from Krakow examined the YTÜ Yıldız Technopark model firsthand, in addition to discussing academic exchanges and joint projects, and expressed their interest in receiving consultancy services for a technopark planned to be established in Poland.
New areas of cooperation were discussed under the agreement previously signed between Yıldız Technical University and Krakow University of Technology, one of Poland’s leading higher education institutions. Prof. Dr. Andrzej Szarata, Rector of the Krakow University of Technology, and his delegation visited our Rector, Prof. Dr. Eyüp Debik, and held discussions covering a wide range of topics, from academic exchange and joint projects to research infrastructure and technology park experience.
During the visit, steps to translate the agreement signed between the two universities into concrete outcomes were evaluated. In this context, initiating faculty exchanges, increasing educational visits, and boosting the number of joint projects were among the key topics discussed.
Technopark experience shared with the Krakow delegation
Discussions also addressed Krakow University of Technology’s goal of establishing a technology park. The delegation, noting that they had adopted YTÜ’s experience in technology development zones, the entrepreneurship ecosystem, and the university-industry collaboration model, requested advisory support for Krakow University of Technology’s technology park project.
As part of the visit program, the delegation also inspected YTÜ’s research and application infrastructure on-site. After receiving information about the work being conducted at the Central Laboratory and the Industrial Design and Prototyping Center, the Krakow delegation visited YTÜ Yıldız Technopark. During the program, the delegation met with our YTÜ Yıldız Technopark General Manager, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhammet Garip, to discuss technology development zones, entrepreneurship support, and R&D-focused collaboration models. Our Deputy General Manager and BAP Coordinator, Prof. Dr. Cengiz Kaya, accompanied the delegation.
Joint projects and academic mobility on the agenda
