Prof. Dr. Ma Liuhui.

YTÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Eyüp Debik hosted the members of the visiting delegation at the Rector’s Office building. Also present at the meeting were YTÜ Vice Rector for Research and Planning Prof. Dr. Güleda Engin; Chief Advisor to the Rector Prof. Dr. Özer Çınar; Deputy General Manager of YTÜ Yıldız Technopark Prof. Dr. Cengiz Kaya; Director of the Institute of Clean Energy Technologies Prof. Dr. Aysel Kantürk Figen, Professor Cem Bülent Üstündağ from the Department of Bioengineering, Professor Nadir Javani from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and Dr. Murat Turhan, Coordinator of the YTÜ Office of International Relations.

A cooperation protocol was signed between YTÜ and ECUST

YTÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Eyüp Debik and ECUST Rector Prof. Dr. Xuan Fuzhen signed an international cooperation protocol between the two universities. The protocol covers student and faculty exchanges, the development of joint educational programs, and the conduct of scientific research. The parties also aim to increase the exchange of knowledge and experience among academic units and researchers, develop research projects in areas of mutual interest, and organize scientific events. The protocol is expected to contribute to the establishment of sustainable academic relations between the two universities and the development of areas of joint collaboration.

YTÜ’s Academic and Research Capabilities Were Presented

During the presentations held at the meetings, the ECUST delegation was briefed on YTÜ’s scientific expertise, research and development capacity, and its activities within the technology ecosystem. The activities of YTÜ Yıldız Technopark, which stands out for its role in technology entrepreneurship and industry partnerships, were also shared with the delegation.

During the discussions, opportunities to develop joint research projects in fields of expertise shared by both universities—including chemical engineering, chemistry, materials science, and other engineering disciplines—were evaluated. Emphasis was placed on student exchange programs and collaboration models that could enhance academic interaction.

Collaboration on joint curricula and sustainability is on the agenda

During the discussions between the delegations, potential joint curriculum initiatives and collaborations that could be developed with YTÜ’s sustainability-focused centers were also addressed. In this context, potential areas of joint work that could strengthen the exchange of knowledge and experience in the field of sustainability, in addition to educational and research activities, were evaluated. The goal is for these discussions and the signed protocol to lay the groundwork for future joint projects by strengthening academic ties between the two universities.

ECUST Delegation Visits YTÜ Yıldız Technopark
