The "Best Academic Invention" Special Award and 6 medals for outstanding inventions
Inventions developed by researchers at Yıldız Technical University were showcased at the 11th International Invention Fair, held as part of TEKNOFEST Southeast—TÜRKPATENT ISIF’26—where they won a total of 6 medals: 1 gold, 2 silver, and 3 bronze. The invention titled “Synthesis of Layered Materials from Eggshell Waste” was awarded not only a gold medal but also the TÜRKPATENT Special Award for Best Academic Invention.
The 11th International Invention Fair, held as part of TEKNOFEST Southeast under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Technology and hosted by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (TÜRKPATENT)—TÜRKPATENT ISIF’26—brought together invention creators, entrepreneurs, students, academics, and various stakeholders in the intellectual property ecosystem in Şanlıurfa.
Inventions developed by researchers at Yıldız Technical University achieved significant success by winning six medals at the fair. YTÜ’s invention titled “Synthesis of Layered Materials from Eggshell Waste” won the Gold Medal along with the TÜRKPATENT Special Award for Best Academic Invention.
The TÜRKPATENT Special Award for Best Academic Invention was presented to YTÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Eyüp Debik by Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır during a ceremony held as part of TEKNOFEST Southeast.

1 Gold, 2 Silver, and 3 Bronze Medals for YTÜ Inventions
A total of 6 inventions developed by researchers at Yıldız Technical University were awarded at various levels at ISIF’26.
Müge Sarı Yılmaz, Deniz Sezgin, and Tarık Eren won a Gold Medal as well as the TÜRKPATENT Special Award for Best Academic Invention for their invention titled “Synthesis of Layered Materials from Eggshell Waste.”
Abdurrahman Kamuran Kadıpaşaoğlu, Mert Yiğit, and Ahmed Alhajyounis, along with Mehmet Arif Saltan, Muhammed Deveci, Ufuk Bölükbaş, and Mevlüt Savaş Bilican for their invention titled “Unmanned Vehicle Capable of Moving on Land and Water,” were awarded the Silver Medal.
Mehmed Taha Aras and Mehmet Amaç Güvensan won for their invention titled “Multi-Profile Fraud Detection System for Identifying Suspicious Ticket Sales in the Aviation Sector,” while Nihat Kabay, Hakan Özkan and Nausad Miyan for their invention titled “A Method for the Production of Dental Implants with a Hydrophilic Surface,” and Afife Hazar Yoruç, Ogüler Sazcı, and Gülçin Genç for their invention titled “A Method for the Production of Dental Implants with a Hydrophilic Surface” were awarded Bronze Medals.
Thus, the inventions of YTÜ researchers earned a total of 6 medals at ISIF’26, including 1 gold, 2 silver, and 3 bronze.
The results achieved by Yıldız Technical University at ISIF’26 demonstrate that the research and development efforts conducted at the university are yielding tangible outcomes centered on intellectual property and innovation.

Inventions Met with Manufacturers and Investors
Held as part of TEKNOFEST Southeast, ISIF’26 provided an opportunity for inventors to showcase the technologies they developed, establish new partnerships, and connect their inventions with manufacturers and investors.
This year, a total of 367 inventions from 11 countries were exhibited at the fair. Of these, 351 were developed by domestic participants and 16 by foreign participants. Of the innovations on display, 250 came from universities, 48 from industrial organizations, and 42 from technology parks.
The fair, which also featured participants from Azerbaijan, France, Iran, Japan, Canada, North Macedonia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Tunisia, and Yemen, presented gold, silver, and bronze medals, as well as 12 special awards, to the most successful inventions.

The International Invention Fair-TÜRKPATENT ISIF (International Invention Fair) is an international invention and intellectual property event organized by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (TÜRKPATENT). Launched in 2016, the fair has been held as part of TEKNOFEST since 2019.
