Yıldız Technical University is preparing to welcome its new students during Orientation Days, which will be held on September 28–29, 2026. The program—which includes meetings with faculty members, visits to university departments, seminars, and student club activities—has been designed to help students share the excitement of their first day and get to know university life.
Yıldız Technical University (YTÜ) is inviting students taking their first steps into university life to Orientation Days with the message, “Hello, Yıldız Student! Welcome to your new home.” During the two-day events held at the Davutpaşa and Yıldız campuses, students will get to know their faculty members, the learning environments, campus life, and the opportunities available to them.
Day One: 115 Years of Excitement
The program will begin on September 28 at 10:00 a.m. with an opening ceremony and musical performance at the Davutpaşa Campus Congress and Culture Center. Following the university presentation, YTÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Eyüp Debik will address the incoming students in his opening speech at 10:30 a.m.
The session to meet the deans of the faculties will be followed by a meeting with the directors of Student Affairs, Health, Culture, and Sports (SKS), and the Library, as well as the Coordinator of International Relations. Students will have the opportunity to learn about the departments they can turn to for assistance with various aspects of university life, as well as the work these departments do.
The program, which will also feature a promotional video for “Yıldız Explorers,” will include a talk titled “Being a Yıldız Student” by the Dean of Students, Prof. Dr. Gamze Varank.
Discussions on university life and club meetings
As part of the program, Expert Psychological Counselor Emel Ulukaya Bulut will lead a session titled “Swipe, Click, Try: Combating Addiction”; and Clinical Psychologist Eylem Seçkin will meet with students in sessions titled “Respectful Living and Safe Relationships.”
After the lunch break, the events will continue at 1:30 p.m. in the Central Courtyard. At this gathering, featuring the Music Club and other student clubs, new students will get an up-close look at campus social life and student activities related to their interests.
On the second day, at the faculties and departments
On September 29, department orientation programs will be held at the Davutpaşa and Yıldız campuses. Students will receive information on the course structure, academic advising, laboratory use, internship processes, and opportunities specific to their departments.
Programs at the Davutpaşa Campus will be held in the faculties’ conference halls. Events at the Yıldız Campus will take place between 9:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. in the Auditorium, the Alpay Aşkun Hall, and the Bedii Korun Hall.
