I must say that these are the best speakers that I have listened so far. You have the dynamic response of a headphone with a good low end response. I am an owner of AKG K-1000 headphones. The details you can hear from those headphones is just incredible. I can feel that the details are better than any other speaker or headphones when I am listening to a highly reverberant recording. I can hear many reflections with these headphones where as these reflections are masked with the sound comming from the instruments in other systems or headphones. AER MK 1s can give you these reflections, details very close to AKG K-1000s. I haven't heard of another Full-Range which sounds this close.

This is a TL based enclosure which uses reactive acoustic filters instead of fiber absorber. This gives a better low end response, with a higher gain as compared to other TLs using fiber absorber. Fiber absorber is used to dampen the higher resonances inside the line. But, at the same time it reduces the amplitude of the fundamental. Reactive acoustic filters, however, have a certain frequency band in which they operate and therefore they don't interfere with the fundamental frequency. By this way, you have a better sounding TL with a better low end response. This enclosure ensures such an operation in two ways. The first one is, it uses reactive acoustic filter to reduce the amplitudes of high resonances inside the line. The second one is that, there is a rear chamber right at the back of the speaker unit. The rear chamber also works as a filter. Rear chamber absorbes the mid frequencies which leaks to the line. As a result of this, only the frequencies, which needs to be in the line, enter the line from the back of the speaker unit.

This enclosure is the only enclosure you will find over the net which doesn't need a sub-woofer. This truly is a stand alone Full-Range enclosure. The design is free and can be received from Bert Doppenberg.
