It has been determined that a cyberattack was carried out against our university’s IT infrastructure on October 1, 2026. Immediately upon the incident, a response process was initiated in coordination with specialized cybersecurity teams.
Claims regarding the status of the data of our students, alumni, and academic and administrative staff have appeared in some media outlets. In the investigations conducted by expert teams since the incident was detected—and which are still ongoing—no evidence has been found indicating that data was transferred outside the system.
All necessary notifications regarding the incident affecting our IT infrastructure have been submitted in full to the Personal Data Protection Authority (KVKK) within the legally prescribed timeframes. An official public announcement regarding the incident has been published on the Authority’s website.
Ensuring the security and confidentiality of the personal data of our students, alumni, and staff, as well as the university’s institutional data, is among Yıldız Technical University’s top priorities.
